Day 2

Yesterday we went to the beach for a little while, and we went shopping a lot.  The tourist shops here are really expensive.  The little crafts we bought off the side of the road in Ecuador for $3 cost $28 dollars here.  I wanted some unusual masks but they wanted $30 for them.  These are the prices you'd pay for them in the US.  So I only bought some stamps.

I did end up preaching at the Methodist church here.  I think they liked it, it's hard to tell.  There were about forty people there.  The Bishop also gave his own message before mine.  I picked some text from Nehamiah.  I compared their ancient stone walls to the walls of Jerusalem, so I started with something they would be familiar with and contrasted it with something that they weren't.

Robert bought a computer for the church in Brisas del Mar.  He wants to have movie night there in that little town.  Some church in NY donated a projector and screen but the Bishop didn't have anything to hook it up to.  That is where we are going today by car.  It will take about 3 hours but the last hour is all bumpy dirt roads they said.  I probably won't be able to post anything while I'm there.
